Celâl Kandemiroğlu

Celâl Kandemiroğlu (* 1953 in Turkey ) is a German - Turkish graphic artist who mainly works in the computer game industry.

life and career

Celâl Kandemiroğlu was born in Turkey in 1953 and studied at the Istanbul Art Academy . He then moved to Germany, where he offered self-drawn comics to Bastei Verlag in 1978 and published his only comic with Kane . He also worked as a title illustrator for films and videos.

From around 1988 he switched to the German computer game industry, where he worked for studios such as Rainbow Arts , Thalion Software , Reline Software or later Wings Simulations and, most recently, for six years as creative director for Ascaron . As a graphic designer, he was involved in the development of titles such as MUDS , X-Out , Der Patrizier , Fate: Gates of Dawn , Biing! , Panzer Elite , Mercenary: Secret Wars , Sacred or Sacred 2 involved.

Kandemiroğlu was also particularly known for his cover illustrations of games. According to his own information, he drew the cover illustrations for over 800 games, including for Turrican , Katakis and MUDS. He was also the title graphic artist for PC Player magazine from 1996 to 1997, as well as for the Amiga Joker, which was discontinued in 1996 .

Kandemiroglu now lives in Istanbul again .
