Thalion Software was a German manufacturer of computer games from the era of 16-bit home computers, such as the Atari ST and Commodore Amiga .

history

The company was founded in October 1988 in Gütersloh by a group of demo-moders . Germ cell was u. a. the group The Exceptions . The main goal of Thalion Software was to program computer games with the latest technology and take advantage of all the features that a computer offered.

Although the products were of good technical quality, had the level of the better commercial video games of the time and in some cases achieved a certain level of awareness such as "The Seven Gates Of Jambala", the commercial success ultimately failed to materialize. In 1994 the company was dissolved.

For example, the graphic designer Erik Simon, the programmers Marc Rosocha (Chambers of Shaolin) and Rainer Bopf (Airbus A320) as well as the musician Jochen Hippel , who also founded the company, worked for Thalion .
