Kanojo to Kanojo no neko ( Japanese 彼女 と 彼女 の 猫 , German: "She and her cat", English She and her cat ), with the subtitle Their standing points (about their standpoints ), is a five-minute anime - OVA by Makoto Shinkai on the relationship between a cat and its owner for one year.

The story is told through a monologue from the cat's perspective, supplemented by a few sentences from the young woman. The cat is spoken by Shinkai himself and the woman by his future fiancé Mika Shinohara ( 篠 原 美 香 ).

Most of the black and white film was created by Makoto Shinkai , the soundtrack was created by his friend Tenmon . Kanojo to Kanojo no neko is the first project that Makoto Shinkai directed, won several awards, and made the creator famous. The short film and soundtrack were originally released on CD. This is now out of print, but the film is still available as an add-on to the DVD version of Shinkai's later work, Hoshi no Koe . In addition to the five-minute version, there is also a three- and one-and-a-half-minute version.
