Chancellor (Diplomatic Service)

A chancellor in the diplomatic service heads the administration of a diplomatic mission abroad .

Official title in Germany

In Germany, in the salary groups A 11 to A 13 for civil servants in the higher-level external service, the official designation "Chancellor" is combined with A 11 and "Chancellor First Class" with A 12 and A 13, provided they are entrusted with the management of the administration.

Spain

There is also a Chancellor ( Canciller ) in Spain as head of missions abroad. In other Spanish-speaking countries, the canciller is the foreign minister.
