Capsule pattern

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The capsule pattern is a technical term for the manual functional examination of a joint . It describes a joint-specific movement restriction in passive joint movement.

Capsule patterns show which directions of movement are first restricted in osteoarthritis or other diseases in which the joint capsule shrinks ( e.g. frozen shoulder ) and in what ratio.

E.g. Art. Humeroscapularis: AR / Abd / IR (3: 2: 1)
