The Kapsenberg lubricant was specially used when using ethers , but is not suitable for more hydrophilic solvents such as alcohols and water and was largely replaced by other synthetic lubricants, e.g. B. replaced based on polyvinyl alcohol . It is only used in a few special applications and is almost only of historical interest.
