The carabiner seat is a historical abseiling method . Since the spread of the half-mast throw , the method is no longer relevant.

method

The rope is hung with two to three turns through the carabiner of the seat loop. Then it is deflected over one shoulder and guided diagonally across the back to the opposite hand, which is used to brake. The central suspension via the seat loop allows a more stable position than with the Dülfersitz . In addition, a small part of the friction is generated by the rope windings and relieves the thighs. There is also the option of back- securing with Prusik knots .
