Karachi Port Trust ( Urdu : کراچی پورٹ ٹرسٹ) (KPT) is a Pakistani government agency that oversees the operation of the port of Karachi in Karachi , in the Pakistani province of Sindh . Between 1880 and 1887 the port was administered by the Karachi Harbor Board . The Karachi Port Trust was then established by Law IV of 1886 with effect from April 1, 1887. The agency is based in the 1916 colonial Karachi Port Trust Building. The Chairman is Rear Admiral Jamil Akhtar HI (M) T.Bt.
