Karen Larisch (born November 2, 1969 in Rostock ) is a German social worker; Local politician in Güstrow as well as state politician of the party Die Linke in the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

Life

Larisch graduated from secondary school in 1986 and then trained as a clerk in foreign trade at the Güstrow clothing works, where, after completing her training, she also worked as an export clerk from 1988 to 1990. After the reunification in the GDR , she initially worked as an employee of the Left Youth Association of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and the United Left Güstrow. From 1993 to 2016 she was also involved in various citizens' initiatives and in voluntary work at the municipal level. Larisch financed her living from 1993 to 1999 with cleaning work, as a bicycle courier and with bar jobs in the low-wage sector.

Karen Larisch is a member of the Güstrow municipal council and received a seat on her party's state list in the state elections in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in 2016 . In her group she is the spokesperson for migration, democracy and tolerance and petitions.
