Parental leave

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The unpaid leave is in Austria for a temporary leave of absence of workers, mostly with partial or complete suspension of payments.

At the employee's request, it can take the form of parental leave , for example for study purposes or longer work that is not directly related to the employment relationship.

Parental leave can also take place if employees or civil servants are accused of a breach of duty. They represent a transition period for the duration of the examinations. After their completion, either the exemption ends or the termination or discharge takes place .

Performing basic military service in the armed forces or civilian service also corresponds to parental leave, since here too the employer has a retention obligation during this time so that the employee can continue to work after completing the service.
