Karib'il IV.

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Karib'il IV. ( Sabaish krbʾl Karibʾil) was a ruler ( Mukarrib ) of the old South Arabian Empire of Saba . Hermann von Wissmann continued his reign around 490 BC. Chr. He was probably the successor to Yitha'amar Bayyin II.

The only sure mention of Karib'il IV can be found in the so-called " Great Family Tree ", a list of "friends" ( mwd ) of Sabaean Mukarribe. There appear three “friends” of a Karib'il in lines IX to XI. The family tree of a family known through several inscriptions from Jifdir ibn Muneichir also shows that an dedicatory inscription from Jifdir ibn Muneichir also means this Karib'il, addressed to Almaqah . Karib'il's successor was definitely Yada'il II.
