Karin Kauertz

Karin Kauertz (born January 11, 1953 in Oldenburg ) is a Bremen politician ( SPD ) and was a member of the Bremen Parliament .

biography

education and profession

From 1959 to 1968 Kauertz attended the elementary school with advanced level Staakenweg in Oldenburg and 1968/1969 the municipal commercial training institutes Oldenburg. From November 1969 to March 1974 she was an office assistant and saleswoman in a music store. From January to September 1975 she was an office assistant at a patent attorney and from May 1976 to July 1985 clerk at a printing and distribution company. From July 1986 to July 1988 Karin Kauertz was an administrative clerk at the Social Insurance Institute and from November 1988 to April 1989 she was a sales clerk at a practice firm. From July 1998 to March 1999 she was a commercial clerk in the stationery and gift items division.

politics

Kauertz has been a member of the IG Medien trade union since 1978 and of the SPD since 1986. She is currently a public relations officer in the local SPD association Neue Vahr and a member of the SPD sub-district executive committee of Bremen City as well as a state party congress delegate.

From 1999 to 2011 she was a member of the Bremen parliament and since 2003 she has been a member of the parliamentary committee of the SPD parliamentary group. In the citizenry she belonged to the works committees GeoInformation, KiTa Bremen, and Umweltbetrieb Bremen, the committees for youth welfare, petitions, the auditing committee and the state advisory board for sport. She was also a member of the Deputation for Education.

From a political point of view, it is particularly important to her to improve childcare and educational opportunities, also taking into account the limited public funds. It is therefore also participating in the “Education Round Table”, which was brought into being as a result of the PISA studies .

Honorary positions

Kauertz is Deputy Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees of the Bremen Community Foundation .
