Karko (people)

The Karko (also Garko ) live in the Nuba Mountains in Sudan and belong to those black African peoples who are grouped together under the name " Nuba ". The Karko population was 12,986 in 1984, most of whom are Muslim and many are Arabized.

Their language is also called Karko and belongs to the Nilo-Saharan languages .

Mende Nazer claims to belong to the Karko-Nuba.
