Karl-Georg Pochhammer
Karl-Georg Pochhammer (born August 31, 1954 in Berlin ) is a German dentist and deputy chairman of the board of the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Dentists (KZBV). As the central association of the seventeen statutory dentists' associations in sixteen federal states, the KZBV represents the interests of around 61,000 contract dentists, one of the largest specialist groups in terms of numbers. The institution is an organ of self-administration in the legal form of a corporation under public law .
Life
After studying dentistry from 1978 to 1982 at the Free University of Berlin , followed by a license to practice medicine and a doctorate (Dr. med. Dent), Pochhammer founded his own practice in Berlin in 1985.
After he was a member of the board of the Kassenzahnärztlichen Vereinigung Berlin (KZV Berlin) from 2000 to 2001, Karl-Georg Pochhammer was elected deputy chairman of the board in 2001.
From 2001 to 2004 he was chairman of the budget committee of the KZBV. From 2005 to 2011, Pochhammer also held the office of chairman of the representative assembly of the KZBV.
In January 2017 he was elected chairman of the board of the KZV Berlin and succeeded the long-time chairman Jörg-Peter Husemann. Pochhammer only held the office until April 2017, after he was elected deputy chairman of the KZBV board in March 2017 by the constituent assembly of representatives of the KZBV. He took office on April 26, 2017.
Karl-Georg Pochhammer is a member of the supervisory board of the Deutsche Apotheker- und Ärztebank (apoBank), a member of the delegates' assembly of the Berlin Dental Association and was a member of the Presidium of the Association of Liberal Professions Berlin (VFB) until 2017.
tasks
The rules of procedure of the KZBV distribute the departments among the three members of the board. Karl-Georg Pochhammer is responsible for the areas of press and public relations, dental communications , finances and internal administration, personnel, telematics, in-house IT, audit matters and the finance committees of the Institute for Quality and Efficiency in Health Care (IQWIG) and the Institute for Quality Assurance and transparency in health care (IQTIG).
