The building at Karl-Schmidt-Straße 5e is a listed building in the Magdeburg district of Buckau in Saxony-Anhalt .

location

It is located west of Karl-Schmidt-Strasse and south of Kapellenstrasse in the western part of Buckau. The Magdeburg – Leipzig railway runs a little further to the west .

investment

The building was built between 1883 and 1886 as a magazine building and water tower for the Royal Prussian Railway Workshop in Buckau during a factory expansion based on plans by the government master builder Horn. A wide, symmetrical building made of red bricks was created. The middle part is three-storey and had a track portal . The side wings are each two-story and were originally crowned by an attic . In front of the east side of the central building is the 23 meter high water tower. The floor plan of the tower, which tapers towards the top, is square with an edge length of six meters. The head of the tower is decorated with round corner turrets and contains the water tank.

After the plant was closed and the building was renovated, it is now used for residential purposes.

In the local register of monuments , the building is listed as a monument under registration number 094 71140.
