Karl Adolf Moberg

Karl Adolf Vilhelm Moberg (* 1840 ; † 1901 ) was a Finnish geologist .

Life

Moberg was the son of Adolf Moberg (1813-1895), a physics - professor in Helsinki . After completing a master's degree in natural sciences, he passed the mountain exam. After that he was a mining engineer, but turned more and more to geological research and mapped the geological map of Finland. He was the first director of the geological commission of Finland from 1886 to 1893.

Moberg was also a pioneer in seismology in Finland, studying the effects of the great earthquake of November 5, 1898.
