Karl Moerwald

Karl Mörwald (born October 26, 1918 in Krems an der Donau , † October 2004 ) was an Austrian politician ( KPÖ ) and editor. Mörwald was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament from 1956 to 1959 .

After elementary school, Mörwald attended grammar school and then commercial school. He worked as a commercial clerk and was employed in the Reich Labor Service in 1938 . He then served in the Wehrmacht between 1939 and 1944 during the Second World War, but deserted and helped set up a resistance group in Krems. After the war Mörwald worked as a journalist in 1945, between 1945 and 1950 he was deputy mayor in Krems and between 1950 and 1979 local councilor. He represented the KPÖ after Viktor Pospischil resigned his mandate between September 20, 1956 and June 4, 1959 in the Lower Austrian state parliament.
