Karl Martin Sinijärv (born June 4, 1971 in Tallinn ) is an Estonian poet and writer .

After graduating from high school in Tallinn, he studied Estonian Philology at the University of Tartu from 1988 to 1991 . He was the editor of numerous Estonian newspapers and cultural magazines.

Karl Martin Sinijärv published his first collection of poems Kolmring ("Dreiring") at the age of seventeen . Even then he was considered a child prodigy of the new Estonian literary scene. He describes himself as an ethnofuturist . In his works he wants to combine archaic content with a new form. In 2002 he received the poetry prize of the state foundation Eesti Kultuurkapital .

From 2007 to 2016 Karl Martin Sinijärv was chairman of the Estonian Writers' Union (EKL).
