Karl Robl

Karl Robl (born September 10, 1943 in Prennet , Sudetenland) is a German economist.

Life

After graduating from high school in Nuremberg, Robl studied economics in Nuremberg from 1964 to 1969 and graduated with a degree in business administration. In the following years he worked as a research assistant at the Universities of Erlangen-Nuremberg and Cologne and at the Institute for SME Research. During this time he received his doctorate summa cum laude in 1973.

After his habilitation in 1979 he was a private lecturer at the University of Cologne. From 1981 to 1987 he was head of the Business Institute of the West German Construction Industry in Düsseldorf. In 1985 he was appointed adjunct professor of business administration. From 1988 to January 2011 he was General Manager of the Central Association of the German Building Industry (ZDB). During his term of office, after reunification, the construction companies in the new federal states were integrated into the association structures of the German construction industry. From 2001 to 2010 he was also managing director of the Federal Association of the Construction Industry .

  • 2006: Golden badge of honor from the Bund Deutscher Zimmermeister in the ZDB
  • 2007: Gold Medal of Honor from the European Association of Timber Construction
  • 2011: Cross of Merit 1st Class of the Federal Republic of Germany
