Karl Schneider (politician, 1909)

Karl Schneider (born May 24, 1909 in Elberfeld ; † March 25, 2000 ) was a German politician ( FDP ). From 1950 to 1970 he was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Life

After Karl Schneider had completed school with the secondary school leaving certificate, he began to study civil engineering at the technical college in Wuppertal-Barmen. After graduating, he worked as a building contractor from 1933 to 1942. In 1942 he was drafted into the Wehrmacht . After the Second World War , Schneider worked as an architect and as a sworn and publicly appointed expert for the construction industry.

Schneider had been a member of the FDP since 1945. In October 1948 he became a city councilor in Wuppertal .

Schneider was elected to the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament as a direct candidate for the FDP in constituency 55 (Wuppertal-Unterbarmen-Ronsdorf) in the second electoral term. From the third to the sixth electoral term, he got a place on the state list of his party in the state parliament. He was a member of parliament from July 5, 1950 to July 25, 1970. In the state parliament, Schneider was deputy chairman of the FDP parliamentary group from January 1958 to July 1966 and second vice-president of the state parliament from July 1966 to July 1970 .
