Karl Schröder (politician, 1913)

Karl Schröder (born March 14, 1913 in Remscheid , † March 16, 1971 ) was a German SPD politician .

education and profession

Karl Schröder attended elementary and vocational school and then passed his journeyman's examination. In 1932 he trained as a youth leader in Berlin-Bernau. He did military service from 1936 to 1945. From 1945 to 1946 he was a union employee and from 1946 to 1947 he worked as an educator. From 1947 he worked as a welfare worker and manager of the Arbeiterwohlfahrt in Solingen.

Karl Schröder was a member of the SPD from 1930 and a member of the General German Trade Union Confederation from 1927 to 1933. In 1956 he became a member of the sub-district executive committee of the SPD Solingen. In the same year he became councilor of the city of Solingen; here he was also parliamentary group leader of the SPD.

From July 21, 1958 until his death on March 16, 1971, Karl Schröder was a directly elected member of the 4th , 5th , 6th and 7th Landtag of North Rhine-Westphalia for constituency 051 Solingen I and constituency 054 Solingen I.
