Karl Sigfrid

Karl Åke Sigfrid (born October 17, 1977 ) is a Swedish politician of the conservative Moderata samlingspartiet .

Sigrid studied economics and at the same time was involved in the Moderate Youth League , the youth organization of the moderates. Later he was also chairman of the Free Moderate Student Union in Stockholm. He worked as an IT specialist in San Diego and at the Cato Institute in Washington, DC.

In 2006 he was elected for the moderates in the Swedish parliament, he represented the Stockholm district ( Stockholms läns valkrets ). In 2010 he was re-elected. In the Reichstag, he was mainly involved in copyright and file sharing . He strongly opposed the FRA law , but later had to agree to the law under pressure and in the course of a pairing agreement . Sigfrid has lived in Brussels since the end of 2014 and continues to be involved in copyright issues there.

Sigfrid is co-author of the book Efter The Pirate Bay published by the Royal Library .
