Karl Wohlfahrt

Karl Wohlfahrt (born April 28, 1952 , † November 23, 2012 ) was a German Taekwondoin .

In September 1972, the last German Taekwondo Championship took place in Munich, which was held without weight classes. He won the gold medal. He won further gold medals at German championships in 1973, 1974, 1975, 1978, 1980, 1982, 1991 and 1993 in different weight classes. At the International German Championships in 1981, 1982 and 1983, Wohlfahrt was able to take first place and in 1980 and 1992 second place. On September 23, 1982 he won the title of European champion for the first and only time in Rome . He decided the final in the weight class up to 64 kg against the Dutchman Henk Horsten for himself. His decades of successful sports career alone made Wohlfahrt a legend of German Taekwondo.
