The Karol Szymanowski Museum in Zakopane at 19 Kasprusie Street is a branch of the Kraków National Museum .
The composer Karol Szymanowski (1882–1937) lived there between 1930 and 1935. His stay in Zakopane should bring him the cure of his tuberculosis.
The wooden Villa Atma in the style of Góralen architecture was built in 1895 by Józef Kaspruś-Stoch as an inn. The music critic Jerzy Waldorff collected donations for the purchase of the villa and in 1974 the villa was handed over to the National Museum in Krakow to create a museum. The Szymanowski Museum has existed since 1976. The composer's study was arranged as true to the original as possible. The other rooms, which were previously used as rental apartments, were furnished with furniture from the era. The composer's awards and the items he used are collected in showcases. There are also two portraits painted by Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz .
