Carpolith
As Karpolith ( ancient Greek karpos "fruit" lithos "stone") is referred to in the Paleontology the fossils of fruits and seeds . The expression is now considered out of date.
The oldest fruits are known from the time of the Lower Cretaceous (145–100.5 Ma). Seeds were often get fossil as a fruit because the seed coat a higher Fossilisationswahrscheinlichkeit than the pulp has. Fruits are the subject of research in the botanical discipline of carpology .
