Karsten Becker (born August 31, 1958 in Stadthagen ) is a German police officer and politician ( SPD ). He is a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

biography

Becker grew up in his birthplace. After attending school, he joined the Lower Saxony police force in 1976 and completed a degree at a technical college with a degree in administrative management (FH) . He served at the Hanover Police Department , from 1989 to 1998 at the Police Office for Technology and Procurement, and since 1998 at the State Presidium for Police, Fire and Disaster Protection (LPPBK) in the Lower Saxony Ministry of the Interior .

politics

Becker has been a member of the SPD since he was 22 years old. For his party, he has been a member of the district council of the Schaumburg district since 2006 . In the state election in Lower Saxony in 2013 , he won the direct mandate in the constituency of Schaumburg and was re-elected in the state election in Lower Saxony in 2017 . In the course of his parliamentary activities, he is a member of the Committee on Home Affairs and Sport. For the SPD parliamentary group, he also holds the office of police policy spokesman.
