Mapping accuracy

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The mapping accuracy is the measure that can just be measured with conventional means and differentiated on a map. It is 0.15 to 0.20 millimeters.

The accuracy of maps is typically reported as the equivalent of meters in nature to the mapping accuracy. It depends proportionally on the scale of the map viewed. The following table shows the scales and their accuracy on maps: m Equivalent in meters in nature to a distance of 0.2 mm on the map.

Scale and accuracy on map :

scale 1: 5,000 1: 10,000 1: 25,000 1: 50,000 1: 100,000 1: 200,000 1: 500,000 1: 1,000,000
accuracy 1 m 2 m 5 m 10 m 20 m 40 m 100 m 200 m

In addition to the drawing and measurement accuracy, the degree of generalization also influences the accuracy of the display.
