Karyanda

Karyanda ( ancient Greek Καρύανδα Karýanda ) was an ancient city in Caria . It is mentioned by various ancient authors and in the 5th century BC. Mentioned in the Athenian tribute lists as a member of the Delisch-Attic Maritime League. Its exact location has not yet been determined with certainty. A main source for the localization of Karyanda is the description in the Periplous of the Skylax of Karyanda .
