Lamination (manufacturing technology)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Under lamination is meant the combination of multiple layers of identical or different materials (some films ) with the aid of suitable masking means (paint, glue, wax). Laminating is done in order to protect and / or decorate a material and / or to achieve an addition of favorable material properties by applying the material on or under a layer with the desired properties or introducing it between two layers.

The cardboard used as drawing board consists of high quality drawing paper that is applied to a layer of cardboard that gives the whole thing thickness, strength and weight. On the underside there is a colored paper layer that serves as a protective and dirt layer. Such thick cardboard boxes are also cut to fit as a passepartout frame because of their high quality top .

It can be divided into three forms:

  • Wet lamination: joining using wet adhesive
  • Dry lamination: joining with dry adhesive
  • Thermal lamination: joining without adhesives, with heat or pressure

Under Deka Schieren is understood mutatis mutandis removing laminated materials, in particular the peeling of adhesive films, or in an extended meaning the removal of a (flat) advertising, such as a poster .
