Kaspersky Internet Security ( KIS ) is security software from the Russian software manufacturer Kaspersky Lab for Windows , macOS and Android .

Range of functions

The current version 2016 has the following functions:

  • Real-time protection against viruses and other malware
  • Firewall
  • Protection against identity theft through a virtual keyboard and anti-phishing component
  • Safe browser for online security
  • Parental controls
  • Spam and banner protection
  • Vulnerability analysis of the operating system and installed applications
  • System tuning for better performance and a higher level of protection
  • Emergency CD for system recovery after malware attacks
  • Automatic, scheduled scans and updates
  • Cloud-based analysis and monitoring of potential threats

A special feature of Kaspersky products is the ability to scan encrypted websites, which transmit data securely over the HTTPS protocol. To ensure this, Kaspersky's security product replaces the existing security certificate with its own.

Versions

A new version of Kaspersky Internet Security is usually released every year, usually around the middle of the year.

Security Suite CBE 11

Since the 10/2008 issue, every issue of Computer Bild magazine (CD or DVD version) has a specially adapted version of Kaspersky Internet Security. The license must be activated on the magazine's homepage, Kaspersky does not advertise this variant separately.

Internet Security 2010

Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 has a sandbox for the safe execution of third-party programs. In addition, the URL Advisor protects the user from dangerous websites.

Internet Security 2012

Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 introduced the two-way firewall and an improved spam and phishing filter. It runs on all Windows versions since XP, but the so-called secure environment cannot be used with the 64-bit version .

Internet Security 2013

The new 2013 version was presented in August 2012. This introduces a function called Secure Payments , which is intended to make electronic payments safer.

Internet Security 2014

Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 was released on August 27, 2013. The GUI design of the new version has been adapted to the Windows 8 look.

Internet Security 2016

Kaspersky Internet Security 2016 was released on July 20, 2015. The program has been optimized for Windows 10 .

Internet Security 2017

Version 2017 appeared on September 7, 2016. In addition to graphical improvements, there was also the new Kaspersky Secure Connection , which can create encrypted and monitored WLAN access on the go. This additional software is supported by HotSpot Shield .

Internet Security 2018

Kaspersky Internet Security 2018 was released on August 30, 2017.
