The Court of Cassation or Court of Cassation of France ( French Cour de cassation [ kuʁ.də.kɑ.sa'sjɔ̃ ]) is the highest court of the ordinary jurisdiction of the Republic of France . It is located in the Palais de Justice (Palace of Justice) in Paris. It consists of one criminal and five civil chambers and checks judgments for legal errors. If it finds any, the judgment will be overturned (French casser , to break, German to  cash in ). The aim is to maintain uniform jurisdiction within France. The President of the Court (French: première présidente ) has been Chantal Arens since 2019.

The Court of Cassation is also the seat of the Network of Presidents of the Supreme Courts of the European Union .
