The fort is a common figure in heraldry and, in contrast to the heraldic castle, has its own form of representation. So it is a highly stylized simple castle that differs from the usual castle-like shape. The tower-like, compact castle shape is provided with prominent battlements at the top and can be seen in this form in many Spanish coats of arms . It is uncommon for the fort to be flagged. Standing, protruding or running heraldic figures on the fort are also rare. In the former coat of arms of the Kingdom of Castile , the border was covered with the coat of arms figure . Here the fort made the coat of arms as speaking . This economical representation is also continued in the wall crowns as a coat of arms.
