Katapa

Katapa was a Hittite city ​​in northern central Anatolia . It was on the road from Ḫattuša to Nerik , south of the Pontus Mountains . It was located in the border area with the Kaškäer and was for a time a military base against the attacks of this mountain people. It was the seat of a BEL MADGALTI ("Lord of the Watchtower"), so governor of a mark (KBo 13.234+ rev. 20 '). Under Mursili II it was a royal winter residence. It was located near Zippalanda , an important cult center, and provided pigs to the Tazzili priests there.
