Catholic working group for the recovery of mothers

The Catholic Working Group for Mothers' Recovery e. V. (KAG) is the association within the Catholic Church in the Federal Republic of Germany , which is dedicated to issues relating to the health of mothers - and in recent years increasingly also fathers - and children as well as support for families . The seat of the association is Freiburg im Breisgau .

Since the end of the 1920s, the association has been committed to the concerns of women and families with specialists and volunteers, especially in social and health policy decisions ( lobbying ). The working group is the largest supporting group in the Elly-Heuss-Knapp-Foundation , German Mothers' Convalescence Organization .

The supporting associations of the Catholic Working Group for Mothers' Recovery are in turn the Deutsche Caritasverband e. V. , the Caritas Conferences Germany eV, the Catholic Women's Community of Germany and the Catholic German Women's Association e. V.

21 preventive and rehabilitation facilities for mothers, mothers / fathers with children with 2,000 places are affiliated with the KAG. Over 350 counseling and placement offices of the local and regional Caritas associations ( general social counseling , pregnancy counseling , etc.) as well as the supporting associations of the KAG are contact points for women and men who want to find out about the possibilities of a mother's cure or mother / father-child cure. They advise around 35,000 women every year. More than 14,000 women and 19,000 children take part in preventive and rehabilitation measures for mothers / mother-child / father-child every year.

To pursue its goals, the working group works with various cooperation partners, of which, in addition to the Knapp Foundation and the supporting associations of the maternal recovery organization, the “Research Association Prevention and Rehabilitation for Mothers and Children” and the “Institute for Psychotherapy and Medical Psychology of the University of Würzburg ” should be emphasized are.

The AG logo shows four intertwined circles as a symbol of the alliance for the health of women and children.
