Katrin Seibert (formerly Hunkenschroer, born June 19, 1970 in Dortmund ) is a German parabadminton player . She worked for the city of Dortmund until her daughter was born and is now concentrating on her international para-badminton career.

Athletic career

Seibert began her sporting career in her hometown of Dortmund with the DJK Saxonia Dortmund , for which she also achieved success in her childhood. For example, she won the German Youth Championship title in the 1983/1984 season.

During her time at Saxonia, Seibert was nominated for the youth national team.

At the German International 2009 in badminton in the STL2a / STL3 classes, Katrin Seibert won singles and doubles. At the Para-Badminton World Championships 2015, Seibert won the gold medal in women's doubles with Helle Sofie Sagoy. Seibert also won the bronze medal in the mixed competition for standing alongside Peter Schnitzler and in the individual. At the 10th Parabadminton European Championships in 2016, Seibert won the gold medal in the women's individual in the SL4 pedestrian class.
