The department store and office building "Wöhrl-Plaza" is a building on Prager Strasse in Dresden .

description

The Wöhrl-Plaza was built from 1995 to 1996 by Gunter Just & Holger Just, consisting of two interconnected buildings grouped at right angles. With its two-winged, right-angled structure, the building encompasses the space around the circular cinema and thus creates a “spacious relaxation zone”. A cantilevered balcony of a café emphasizes the square. The side wing on Prager Strasse was reduced in width so as not to obscure the view of the circular cinema. The other side wing has a "massive front face ... with an inclined glass surface". It is a building with a "tendency towards monumentality in the combination of glass surfaces and cladding with suspended sandstone slabs". The building is “a smart contribution to the development of this area destroyed by the war”.
