Kaundorf ( Luxembourgish Kauneref , French Kaundorf ) is a village in the reservoir municipality , canton Wiltz , in Luxembourg .

Kaundorf is on the "Mineschbaach", a tributary of the "Dirbaach". The CR 316 and CR 318 run through the town. Neighboring towns are Nothum in the north , Esch-Sauer in the south and Liefrange in the west .

Freedom monument with bomb from WWII
At the entrance to the village, coming from the direction of Esch-Sauer , a memorial commemorates the population and the Allied troops who suffered in the Battle of the Bulge in World War II . The monument consists of a bomb dropped nearby by a US plane around Christmas 1944. On 28. September 1980 this memorial was inaugurated.
Bunker from WWII
In the woods to the south of the village there is an underground bunker in which refractories hid during the Second World War in order to escape entry into the Wehrmacht. A total of five bunkers around Kaundorf were occupied during the Nazi occupation. In 1987 the bunker "on the Runschelt" was restored and placed under monument protection.
Saint Pirminus Chapel
A chapel from the 18th century is located on a small plateau between Kaundorf and Büderscheid . In the 8th century, Bishop Pirminus is said to have blessed a spring in this place. Every year on Whit Monday there is a procession from Kaundorf to this place of pilgrimage.
