Kavalierhaus Kleßheim

The Kavalierhaus Klessheim is located in the park of Klessheim Palace . Archduke Ludwig Viktor had it built in 1881/82 as a "winter house" for the cold season by the important Viennese architect Heinrich Ferstel , because the castle was very difficult to heat. After his death in 1919, it became state property together with Klessheim Castle.

During the Second World War it housed an army rest home. The rooms were equipped with monitoring systems, and a large bunker was built under the garden.

Today the Kavalierhaus is a training company of the Salzburg Klessheim tourism schools .
