Kazimieras Motieka (born November 12, 1929 in Kaunas ) is a Lithuanian lawyer, lawyer , former politician , member of the Seimas , Vice-President of Parliament.

Life

From 1949 to 1950 Kazimieras Motieka studied law at the University of Vilnius (VU) and from 1950 to 1951 at the Leningrad State University , from 1951 to 1954 again at the VU, where he completed his diploma studies.

From 1954 to 1996 he was a public prosecutor in Soviet Lithuania , interrogator in special cases ( tardytojas ), head of the interrogation subdivision, and from 1960 to 1961 prosecutor of the city of Vilnius in Lenin Raion. Kazimieras Motieka was a member of the Lithuanian Supreme Soviet (Lietuvos Respublikos Aukščiausioji Taryba) and Deputy Chairman from 1990 to 1992. He has been a lawyer since 1961. Until 2004 he was head of his own law firm. Since 2004 he has been a senior partner in the law firm “Motieka ir Audzevičius”. The focus area is criminal law .

From 1998 to 2002 Motieka was President of the Lithuanian Bar Association and Chairman of the Lithuanian Bar Council (lit. Lietuvos advokatų taryba ).
