Kebaya

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The kebaya is a traditional blouse worn by Indonesian, Malay and Singaporean women on formal occasions. A cain or a sarong is worn for this, the latter actually being a man's skirt.

Nowadays there are also modern kebaya that are worn with short skirts, shorts or jeans. It is not to be confused with the sarong kebaya, a Singapore Airlines (former Malayan Airways Limited) uniform designed by the French designer Pierre Balmain .
