Wedge color
The Keilitz color is a blue-black protein glaze color that was used in manual analog image processing ( retouching , printing master production ) to intensify the tinting of halftone photo material (film, photo paper) in the repro area. This glaze color was mostly used on black and white photos and color separations, e.g. B. on negatives to make dust spots or scratches that occurred during the copy invisible or to compensate for minor image errors on positive material. Today this color can usually be found under the name "Diaphoto-Dye-Lasurfarben".
