history

Keim & Co. was founded in Nuremberg in 1866. Tin cans, spinning tops , metal construction sets and sand toys were produced. In the 1930s, production was gradually expanded to include cars, airplanes and mechanical figures. During this period, the Karl Bub company was taken over in order to save it from impending expropriation and production was expanded to include railways, drive models and military toys. He bought the Krauss company and took over the inventory, tools and machines. In 1955 the first electric trains were produced. Subsequently, the range was specialized in 0 gauge railways, summer toys, kitchen items and plastic vehicles.

In 1972 there was a change of ownership to the “Le Jouet Français” ( Jouef ) group with the companies Delacoste, Solido and Heller. The production of the car racing tracks was stopped. In 1980 the entire group was liquidated.

The English company Hornby Railways has now acquired the brand and wants to restart model railroad production.
