Core pressure
As a central pressure is called the barometric maximum in the center of a high-pressure area or the barometric minimum in the center of a low pressure area or the eye of a tropical cyclone .
This air pressure is the highest or lowest barometer reading that is measured within this pressure structure. In large tropical cyclones, the core pressure can drop below 900 hPa. The lowest core pressure measured so far was 870 hPa and was measured on October 12, 1979 in Typhoon Tip in the Northwest Pacific . The highest core pressure ever measured was registered at 1083.8 hPa on December 31, 1968 in Agata in northwest Siberia, 263 m above sea level, in a cold peak.
