Kerstin Wenk

Kerstin Wenk (born February 25, 1971 in Basel ) is a Swiss politician ( SP ). She is a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Basel-Stadt .

Life

Kerstin Wenk grew up in Pfeffingen . She did an apprenticeship as a structural draftswoman , which she completed in 1991. In 1997 she graduated as a sociocultural animator and in 2009 she graduated as an association manager. She worked in the catering industry, from 1998 to 2007 as managing director and owner of two restaurants. After that she worked for the homeless meeting point Glaibasel until 2010. From 2010 to 2013 she was managing director of the specialist and placement agency for volunteer work in the Canton of Aargau. Since 2013 she has been the union secretary of the VPOD Region Basel.

Wenk has been a member of the Basel Grand Council since 2011. She replaced Beat Jans , who had resigned in order to concentrate on his national council mandate . In the Grand Council, she was initially a member of the Justice, Security and Sports Commission (JSSK) . Since 2013 she has been a member of the Business Audit Commission (GPK) . From 2017 to 2019 she was also Vice President of the SP Basel-Stadt .
