Candle making

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Candle production is operated by wax pullers ; There are several ways to make candles: pressing , pouring , drawing, extruding , dipping and pouring.

Pressing candles

Today the most common and cheapest way of making candles. A wax powder is pressed in a cylinder under high pressure by two punches, the pressure hardens the powder. The blank is still dipped, the candle is ready.

to water

Liquid wax is poured into molds, the molds differ in shape and material. In plaster, plastic, or metal molds z. B. cast tapered candles and pillar. Elaborate candles are poured into silicone molds , e.g. B. Easter Bunnies and Santa Clauses .

Pull

On a tractor, a wick is pulled through hot wax and then through a caliber that strips off the excess wax (the caliber slowly increases in size). This is repeated until the candle has reached the correct thickness.

Extrude

A wax mass is pushed through a caliber in a rotating screw at a certain temperature, which gives the candle its shape.

Diving

The wick is dipped in wax more often, this makes the candle thicker. This is repeated until the candle is the desired thickness. This is done mechanically in factories, thousands of wicks are dipped into the wax and then cooled. This is still done manually in factories.

Infuse

Candles are poured from the wick. Thus, they get thicker and thicker to the desired size.

Knead

Hot paraffin is poured into containers and kept at the temperature for hand kneading in a heating cabinet. Of these z. B. flowers or fruit candles such as apple or pear kneaded by hand.
