Ketsumeishi ( Japanese ケ ツ メ イ シ ) is a Japanese J-pop and hip-hop band that was formed in 1993.

history

Ketsumeishi has been active in her current line-up since 1996. The name of the group is derived from the medicinal herb Senna obtusifolia , which has been used as a laxative in China since ancient times. The group's first public appearance took place as part of an advertisement for Toyota Motors.

The single Sakura , which climbed to number 2 in the Japanese annual charts in 2005, was used in the Japanese music video game Taiko no Tatsujin .
