Chain nut
A chain wheel with a special tooth shape is called a chain sprocket or pocket wheel . This sprocket is in the form of the chain links, e.g. B. an anchor chain or the chain of a ferry that is not moving freely , so that a link chain of suitable thickness and pitch clings firmly to the chain sprocket halfway around the wheel and the power of the drive is transmitted to the chain with almost no friction or loss.
