The chain stitch (also chain stitch) is used to sew (connect) pieces of fabric in textile processing and is also an important stitch of embroidery , e.g. B. in tambour embroidery. The needle pierces next to the puncture point and thus forms a loop . This is placed around the new puncture site. By repeating the work steps along an imaginary line, a loop chain is created. Industrial sewing machines can use chain stitches to create very elastic seams.
