Chain fabric process

Among chain substance process refers to all textile techniques, in which on the basis of a chain , that is a stretched and fixed thread system being worked. These are processes that are technically precursors or closely related to weaving .

In contrast to the actual weaving, the warp threads are not moved automatically (that is, by means of an auxiliary construction on the loom such as the creel comb or the shafts), but only by hand.

A distinction is made between procedures with an active and passive chain.

Active chain techniques include: twist tie chain and jump . Processes with a passive warp include: weaving with wound, knotted or twisted weft thread as well as knitting .
