Town hall Kettwig

The classical Kettwig town hall is located on the market square of Kettwig , today a district of Essen .

history

The old town hall building was built as a Weskott cloth factory in 1830 and acquired in 1874 by the town of Kettwig, which became independent in 1857.

Outwardly striking are the western gable, the tower with artistic forge decorations and the Kettwig city coat of arms made of limestone.

Since Kettwig was incorporated into the city of Essen in 1975, the old building has housed an administrative branch of the citizens' office with a registry office. The Kettwig City Museum is located in the later extension .
